Shah is a Soul and R&B-inspired artist born and raised in Toronto, Canada, hailing from the same borough as The Weeknd. Shah has released a new single titled ‘Sunset Season’ that will have you in a harmonious lapse. The song starts with a beautiful acoustic guitar and is closely followed by vocals that will have you relaxed to the core. As the song goes on the grooviness intensifies and Maria-Therese does the song absolute justice with vocals that compliment Shah’s so beautifully. The two have harmonious vocal runs that will leave you speechless and you might catch yourself singing by the end of the track. Check out Shah’s ‘Sunset Season’ here:

How would you describe the music you typically create nowadays?

I would describe the music I’ve been making these days as the most me my music has sounded since I started taking music seriously in 2018.

I am diverse with my artistry and capable of creating music in many genres. I’ve been exploring the Alternative R&B route alongside some jazzy Hip-Hop, but I plan on expanding.

What is your creative process like, especially in your most recent projects?

Making music is therapy for me so I write from a real place. I enjoy writing in a way where I am getting off what I need to, but at the same time generalizing some things to where it’s easier for the listener to relate to and connect with what I’m saying. Usually, I listen to an instrumental and whatever it evokes in me I write about, but with this song, I already knew which direction I wanted to head into, sonically. I was listening to a lot of J.Cole, Frank Ocean, and Kaash Paige around the time I created the song and I knew that this energy was something I wanted to give to the world.

What Is The Message You Wish Listeners To Take Away From The Tracks?

One evening I felt very inspired and I wanted to make a song, but I had family over. When I make music it’s never an event it’s always something private so I needed to escape my environment momentarily, so I locked myself in the bathroom. Turned the fan on, and starting freestyling to this guitar pattern that I found online. The next thing I know is I made a whole song in the bathroom just chilling on the sink. Sat on the song for a year and a half until I met Maria-Therese and Sonya Tsu. I met both of them around the same time and showed them the record. Maria was next to me humming to the song so I asked her to go in the booth and do whatever because I wanted to see what would happen. She delivered the most soothing vocals so I had to call her out of the booth and tell her she’s on the track. A few months later I asked Sonya if he could make a proper beat for the song and he banged it out in less than an hour. Then he and I went on to create a whole project surrounding that song that is almost complete.

Any Exclusive information / announcements you got for the vibenextdoor,

The song is about my future wife who isn’t in my life yet. Living in my fantasy. I want the listener to live in their fantasy and experience the love that they deserve.
