Avgust Reign an alternative RnB artist from Maryland, Baltimore pushing the envelope with the sound of music.Reign grew up in NYC and the DMV which exposed her to different cultures; all of which inspired her current sound.

Seasons is an emotional piece which touches on Reign’s relationship experience and how she’s evolved and keeps her head up. Reign exercises her versatility through her voice that mesmerizes you and before you know it Avgust Reign has you in a trance. How would you describe the music you typically create nowadays?

I would say it leans more towards Alternative RnB and Jazz. My personal taste in music is really broad so I don't want to limit myself to only one genre.

What is your creative process like, especially in your most recent projects?

It depends on the mood I'm in at the time. Sometimes I get an idea for a song after hearing a beat and other times lyrics just pop into my head throughout the day. When that happens I normally piece everything together once I actually start working on a song. I have a bunch of random notes on my phone with different lyrics I've come up with throughout the day, sometimes they turn into songs, and sometimes they don't. Either way, though it all helps with the process.

What Is The Message You Wish Listeners To Take Away From The Tracks?

With this track, I think it came to me at a time I really needed it. I was moving on from a past situation and completely getting rid of anything from the past that was toxic or holding me back. When I was writing this it made me feel a lot less heavy and more optimistic for the future. So I hope it can have the same effect on anyone who listens to it.

I'm super happy to announce I'll be releasing my first full-length album in 2022. It's going to be an experimental Alt-RnB project heavily inspired by my love for Sade, Frank Ocean, Aaliyah, and Kanye West. I'm also working on some exciting live virtual performances for next year and a joint project with my producer Promethius.
