RYE. 783, otherwise known as RYE, is a brand new R&B singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada. He specializes in delivering catchy, soulful melodies that speak to his Island roots and lived experiences in big cities. RYE.’s smooth, full, and captivating voice paired with his mixing of Trap, Soul, Dancehall, and Afrobeat elements definitely outlines a style of RnB that is on the rise and taking the world by storm. On his new single “Never Know” we get a great sample platter of the vibes to expect on his newest EP “The Boy Who Lived.” out now on all streaming services

“Never Know” is a track about navigating through the mindset of someone who wants to improve their current circumstance and elevate while those around them are stuck in their old ways and unable to see the same vision. The hard hitting drums and beautiful guitar/flute melodies done by PrettyboyRon set the perfect stage for RYE to outline the struggles of someone who is working hard to get to the next level and the bittersweet feeling of closing the gap on the fake people who say the are but in reality aren’t willing to do the same.

In his own words, “The ones who hailing you wanna see you drown the most.”

This Ep is a refreshing soundscape that paints a picture of the world of Rye.783 vividly and with finesse,we were able to ask RYE a few questions about his craft and what’s on the horizon for him and his career - here are his answers below:

How would you describe the music you typically create nowadays?

Nowadays I’m creating worlds with true stories for people to enjoy. In my upcoming EP “The Boy Who Lived” I wanted to ensure I'm hitting all frequencies. My mission when creating PERIOD is to get people to FEEL rather than wanting to dance. I want a verse/hook to hit them differently and put them into an introspective state. When people create memories with my sounds, I know I'm doing my job.

What is your creative process like especially in your most recent projects?

It varies. I don't typically like starting every session the same but you’ll catch a bottle of wine or rosé chilling somewhere. Once my producer pulls up the vibe for the night we’re straight locked in. Before I ever finish a session, the skeleton of the record is created. Depending on how long that takes the flesh is layered on top afterwards.

What Is The Message You Wish Listeners To Take Away From The Tracks?

LIVE, LOVE AND FEEL. I started writing and composing music at 16 because I had something to say. I have family and friends who had the same intentions but sadly couldn't make it to see their day. When people listen to anything from RYE, I want them to be inspired. I want it to challenge structures set in place and to break creative, and mental barriers so that we can get back to whats real.

Any Exclusive information/announcements you got for the Vibenextdoor?

I actually just got back from a Canadian Tour that we wrapped up in Toronto at Bar Cathedral. We also shut down London, Montreal, and Ottawa. For right now, what I can share is an announcement on some crazy features I’ve got lined up for 2023 with some local and international artists. With the release of this single “Never Know” and my EP “The Boy Who Lived” I'm creating this world for my listeners, and this is just the intro.

RYE. Is definitely an artist from Toronto to watch out for. Having performed on a Canadian tour at such an early stage in his career is an extremely impressive feat; and not only that, it’s a testament of his drive, work ethic, and dedication to the experience he wants to provide for those that come in contact with his music.
