Edwin Dapaah is a Toronto based artist taking influences from Rap and RnB. If you tend to drive late night and need more songs for that drive, check out Edwin Dapaah’s ‘Poolside’, Pt 2’. He creates a vibe with his numerous catchy flows in this Rap and RnB influenced track. The creativity with the chorus creates a unique, melodic vibe that sets the tone for the track. Dapaah touches on his experiences with a girl who he has mixed feelings for but still embraces them because it’s all apart of life.

Here’s what Edwin Dapaah had to say about the single:

How would you describe the music you typically create nowadays?

The music I create nowadays can be described as a mix of R&B and Rap. I have a deep connection with both genres and combining them in my music is something I've always wanted to do. I'm a pretty versatile artist and I've delved into various other genres as well.

What is your creative process like, especially in your most recent projects?

My creative process is usually the same for almost all of my songs. I'll play the beat over and freestyle to the beat. Usually I find parts that I like and then I begin to start writing. Sometimes I just use full freestyles to create a track as well. But that's mainly for my songs that lean more towards Rap. My R&B songs usually require more writing and construction before it's ready.

What Is The Message You Wish Listeners To Take Away From The Track?

The message I want listeners to take from Poolside is that it's okay to have mixed feelings on a love interest. Poolside is a mellow ballad about the duality of wanting a certain love interest yet at the same time being conflicted about said person. Sometimes it can be annoying having these feelings, but it's all a part of life as a teenager.
