How would you describe the music you typically create nowadays?
My music is always inspired by my authentic relationships, experiences & life events. I've been having a lot of fun writing with friends too, and finding new ways to voice my ideas through that social collaboration. I feel like my style is influenced by a variety of genres, like Jazz, Hip Hop and even elements of indie music, but I'll always be an R&B girl at heart.
What is your creative process like, especially in your most recent projects?
My creative process has been fluid over the last year, which has been such a valuable learning experience. I get inspired by witnessing worldly experiences, from simple pleasures to complicated pain. Sometimes I write by myself with a piano or guitar, sometimes I write lyrics or record melody ideas in my phone, and other times a song is cumulatively written by multiple people over months of sessions.
What Is The Message You Wish Listeners To Take Away From The Tracks?
I process a lot of emotions through my music, so my greatest hope is that it can help listeners process theirs too -- by writing as vulnerably and honestly as possible. The more specific & detailed I can get with my sentiment, the more it resonates with listeners, because I'm verbalizing a universal human experience.
