What emotions were you feeling while you were making this recent single?

I was definitely feeling in love while making this one. I wanted to capture that sensation of meeting someone for the first time and being head over heels for them like I was when I met my girl.

What was the creative process that led to the finished product like? What is your favourite moment or element of that?

Honestly I was going through some serious writer’s block right before this one clicked. This is my first new song since August, and that’s the longest break I’ve taken since I released my EP last April. It really wasn’t anything too crazy that got me inspired. I just saw a pic of my girlfriend in some red lipstick and thought to myself “Damn, she looks bad.” Boom. I got the hook and the rest is history.

How did key contributions shape the final product?

Big shoutout to Marshy for this beat. I would have never been able to make this song without it. The melodies, the drums, the keys…everything about it is just so fire. Hopefully we can collaborate on something soon.

How would you describe the music you typically create nowadays?

Lately I've been trying to expand my sound while still staying true to myself. There’s a lot of stuff I want to accomplish this year and I’m trying to keep outside influences to a minimum, while still appreciating the art that everyone else is making. I got like 2 solo mixtapes and a collab tape that I’m working on right now so expect a lot of music from me this year.

What is the message you want listeners to take away from your story?

I like making music that makes people feel sexy. At the end of the day I want people to feel good when they play my tracks. Maybe even set the mood for a nice night. I always try to set a vibe for my tracks before anything else. The story usually tells itself.

Any exclusive information/announcements you have for the VibeNextDoor (shows, upcoming releases)?

I have a show coming up on February 18th in West Hollywood at The Viper Room Lounge so if you in the area and want to have a good time, pull up. A lot of big stuff I’m working on this year so stay tuned.
